What is architectural design?

1.Concept that focuses on the components or elements of a structure or system and unifies them into a coherent and functional whole, according to a particular approach in achieving the objective(s) under the given constraints or limitations.

2.An Architectural Designer is an architect who creates the design and plans for structures - including commercial buildings, residences and bridges. When creating a design, architectural designers must analyze the layout of the area and how the structure will fit into this design. Many architectural designers work in the design studios of architectural firms.

3. At least at this point in my life, and this place in time and space, I define architectural design as problem solving by adding value. To try to break it down to its most simplistic state, we design to solve a problem. (http://bluearchitecture.wordpress.com/2011/06/18/what-is-architectural-design/)
